The first 2009 meeting of the Brentwood (TN) City Commission had a two sided agenda (don't click here to download the 21 megabyte pdf) but lasted barely an hour. Lots of "Yays" and no "Nays" is the way Mr. and Ms. Commissioner get to bed early on a Monday night.
Tonight I attended the regular meeting of the Brentwood (Tennessee) City Commission. It was the first time I've been present for a meeting since we moved to Brentwood in May 2007. City business included swearing in a new police officer who is coming back to his hometown to serve after serving the USA during two terms in Iraq.
Notably, the commission approved the formation of an environmental board. There were also approvals for artistic elements of the Brentwood Library's expansion. Three citizens were appointed to the Tree Commission.
I had submitted an application to be appointed to one of three open spots on the Brentwood Historical Commission. I'm disappointed in not receiving a single vote from any of the 7 commissioners. Interestingly, they all voted for the same three people. I wish them well.
